Subject:Silver hallmark and text, Japanese or Chinese ?

I am trying to identify the text and silver mark on this vase. Somehow i am unable to figure out: Chinese or Japanese letters. Thank you for your help!

Reading of engraved text and my rough translation;
一品當朝照松
独占花前過一生
A first rate pot is like a pine tree shining in the morning
it spends its whole life with flowers
