Posted By: Bill H Sun, Jan 08, 2023 Here is an image of a Burmese Kammavaca text with lacquered gilded leaves containing oaths sworn to by novice monks upon entering the monkhood. These elaborate "Burmese Bibles", as they are called by the unindoctrinated, usually donated to monasteries by relatives in honor of youthful novices at tonsure (head-shaving) ceremonies conducted before their three-month period of monastery training. Perhaps you can compare the script to yours. |

Posted By: Niki Mon, Jan 09, 2023 Thank you for your feedback! The hint that it might be a Singalese manuscript comes from the Institute for South Asian, Tibetan and Buddhist Studies | University of Vienna. That was probably a mistake. I think Burmese could be more correct. :-) |
