A Tibetan Khaden (sleeping rug)

On a deep blue ground scattered with auspicious symbols - bats, vase with ruyi and coral, musical stone, and peonies around 3 large red medallions with Manchurian cranes - the Chinese symbol of a mandarin of the first rank, and therefore held in high esteem among the Tibetan elite. Handsome blue and green borders again with auspicious symbols. Wool warps and wefts. Ten different colours used. Some wear.
