A beautiful saddle rug woven in mirror-image parts with a central vegetal blue panel edged with multiple borders above a vegetal green panel woven with delicate scattered flowers and branches, and blue "frog's feet" motifs, and a large medallion enclosing a mandala of peonies. The corners of red contain fine floral and scrolling foliate motifs. The borders of this rug are a symphony intricate and careful designs and execution - pearls, keyfret patterns and wonderful stylised flowers in multiple colours on a triking deep blue field. Maroon flannel sewn edges, leather saddle eyelets. Some wear where the rider's "control leg" would have been. |
