Mandala on wooden plaque

This mandala, painted on cloth and adhered to wood, depicts a god in yabyum (father-mother - union). He and his consort both hold bhumpas, or treasure vases. In the lotus petal ring just beyond the deity are four ritual implements: vajra, sword, ankusha (elephant goad), and flaming jewels. Beyond that are the colors of the other four directions.
