Re: Very unusual Chinese scene?? blue and white |

Message The scene is not usual, but if you Google up "Yinsheng porcelain" and click on "Images" you will find a very similarly painted plate owned by the British Museum. However, there is a slight difference in the bottom marking. The museum owned one is marked 寅生佳製 "Finely made by Yinsheng", while your one is marked 寅生佳器 "Yinsheng Fine Ware". Perhaps G. Davidson's Handbook of Marks on Chinese Ceramics would provide the answer, but unfortunately I don't have it. Let's hope that someone from the visitors to this Board will catch it up. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
