Hello everyone, I purchased this Japanese painting. Can anyone tell me if the painter is known and/or any other information about it. Thanks for your attention.

Many thanks Mr. Nagy for your help. I don't know if I understood correctly: could it be a Chinese painter who lived between 1688-1879, who painted in the manner of an even older painter and the painting would have belonged to Korean collectors? My husband bought it years ago at an auction from Japan. Can I send better photos of the painting to get an opinion of it?
My thanks and best regards.

Dear Marta,
Your understanding is correct.
As cultural and historical relations with China evolved, the Japanese market always had a lot of Chinese and Korean paintings. The trend in recent years has been that wealthier Chinese are buying back large numbers of these pictures.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Thanks again Mr. Nagy. The painting always seemed very fine to me, but I thought it was by a Japanese artist and I didn't think it could be very old. I looked online at other works by Cai Jia. But we have no expertise to make any comparisons. I have attached some clearer photos and one of the writing on the back.
A very cordial greeting,
Martha
