Subject:Chinese Cylinder Vases
Posted By: Peter Sun, May 07, 2023 IP: 178.165.168.32

Hello.
Is it possible to say whether this pair of vases likely dates from the Republic period or the PRC ?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks !!

Barring the possibility that your vases are so white that they blend perfectly into the background of our screens, please reread the Forum FAQ section and resubmit them in a size and format meeting forum requirements.

Thanks,

Bill H.

I’ll defer the grassy inscription to others, but the style appears to be early Republic. The red base mark may be that of a known artist, which would better define his active period. See link below for another example.

Best regard

Nice double matching examples. Despite the blurry pictures they appear to be Republican period.
