Hi, can anyone shed any light on this beautiful bowl? Does anyone recognise the artists mark or can suggest the age of this piece? It’s fairly large 10cm height Diameter 23cm.

As always any help appreciated.

I checked around online and could not find this mark of 'Rui'/瑞 in connection with millefleurs or other Chinese bowls. It is not a surname but means "Felicitations' and is used as a phonetic in translating foreign names and terms.

Since your bowl appears to be hand-decorated, I believe it probably was made in the late 19th or early 20th century as part of a custom service for a restaurant or private buyer, not necessarily for use in Mainland China but another Chinese population center in Hong Kong or elsewhere in Asia.

Here's the same famille rose pattern on a pair of similar bowls of the 1875-1908 Qing Guangxu period that have faded gilt as the ground. I also have plates and cup & saucer sets in the famille noir style.
