Subject:Chinese Embroidery Panel

Hi Forum Members,

I recently acquired this framed Chinese embroidery panel with a gold, five-clawed dragon in the center. It measures 13" by 15". I would greatly appreciate any input on its original usage (rank badge, part of a larger garment or other?), approximate age, and the symbolism represented in the work.

Not an expert on silks. But I think it's guangxu period 1875-1908.
