Posted By: Steve Gridley Sun, Aug 22, 2021 In my opinion it looks more like a cast nickel alloy piece made in India or other SE Asian country. My guess is mid to late 20th Century. The mark does not appear to be a stamp but rather molded as part of the "casting" and also looks like a pseudo-hallmark incorporating the symbol for Sheng and possibly silver. And those ducks are pretty bad. I honestly cannot see a Chinese silversmith taking "credit" for this shaker. I would still have the metal checked for composition. |
