Posted By: Bill H Wed, Jul 22, 2020 If you flip the photo 90 degrees to the left, I believe that mark would read down and across from the top right as 'Made during the Daoguang Reign of the Great Qing Dynasty' (大清道光年製 - Da qing dao guang nian zhi) in a grotesque version of seal script. Actually, I can make out only the first five characters and for the last one am trusting one of my references that shows a similar mark with a translation. I also can't recall ever seeing a six-character Daoguang mark that didn't end in Zhi. |

Posted By: Jonathan Wed, Jul 22, 2020 The mark is Daoguang 1821-50, but the plate appears to be much later from what I can see. Also the incised dot markings are usually on relatively new pieces or pieces of little value. The mark itself is fairly crude. Regards, Jack |
