Subject:Help needed to identify Bone Figure
Posted By: Gareth Fri, Oct 27, 2023 IP: 90.243.52.240

Good Morning from the UK, Im wondering if anyone can give any views / information on this little bone figure. He stands around 5cms tall and looks like he may be Indian possibly?, he is carrying a type of old gun and looks like his tunic was once painted red.
Many thanks for any information
Gareth

Dear Gareth,
you may be right about the Indian origin. I think it is an old chess piece. That would also explain the colour on the figurine. It may be from the 19th century, but that's just an educated guess.

I'll link you to two comparative examples:

I hope I could be of some help.

With kind regards

Madria
