Hello everyone, i have bought this beautifull carved figure and wondered if it is jade and if it has some age or is brand new.

With this blurry photo. .it is a softer stone,perhps Serpentine.

Hi Alex,
Its a nice carving but i doubt it's nephrite Jade. Possible serpentine or maybe agate.
You would need to perform a SG test to confirm either way as it's very difficult to judge simply by a few pictures etc.
I don't think it's Old... later 20th Century carving. I can just see modem tooling that's been cleverly highly polished.
The details are lacking in the head and mouth.
The market place is flooded with similar carving often sold as Jade.

Keep it as a study piece,of what Jade does not look like.
Mark has figured it correctly,we'll see more of this type of carving soon.
