Subject:blue and white porcelain jar - what do the blue circles on base mean?

Hi can anyone tell me what the blue rings /circles means on the base? the pot measures approx 18cms high and 10cms a cross base

Blue circles like this are associated with the early Kangxi period (1662-1722). However, the painting on your ginger jar, particularly the detailing of the magpie amidst prunus blossoms, seems to stray from the precision of period artistry. See images below of a Kangxi plate from my collection.

Yours may be Republic era (1912-49) or later, in my opinion.
