Subject:Help with identification and translation of a seal mark

Hi,

Can someone help with identification and translation of this seal mark and the jar too.

Weirdly it has a possible Japanese or Chinese mark on the underside but looks European in design. A hybrid of sorts for the Japanese or Chinese markets reflecting the European trends of time? The image painted on both sides is possibly an Aesop fable - cockerel and fox? Hand written digits to the rim of the base too


Any help appreciated.
