Subject:Brown Pottery Planter Aesthetic Movement Mark?
Posted By: Linda Culm Wed, May 24, 2023 IP: 2a00:23c4:33ac:7401:

I have a small dark brown ceramic planter / flower pot, 4.5 inches high, diameter 4.75 inches.
The decoration is obviously chinese or japanese and reminds me of Aesthetic Movement pieces.
It does have a mark on the bottom. Could anyone translate and give an approximate date, please? Apologies if the mark is not the right way up and thank you.

This is a Chinese purple sand (boccaro ware) planter from the recent years.
Marking reads,
盆香榭 - Pén Xiāngxiè - Planter Xiāngxiè*
*1, Refers to a terrace in a temple
2, Translation of French "Champs" (Pastoral)

With regards,
I.Nagy
