Subject:Chinese ancestor inscription
Posted By: Lisa Wood Sun, May 14, 2023 IP: 46.69.32.186

Please can someone help with the translation of this inscription on a wooden plaque at the back of an ancestor figural carving. I’m hoping it may identify the person? Many thanks.

In context, the inscription reads down in Chinese standard script "Image produced in the 12th year of the Republic (1923) - Riches, honors and long life" (Min guo shi er nian zao sheng xiang - Fu gui chang shou - 民國拾弍年造生像 富貴長壽). Note: The date in the inscription is written in the "longhand" banking numerals used to prevent fraud.

Best regards,

Bill H.
