Subject:Japanese porcelain Chrysanthemum bowl w/ heavy gold encrusting
Posted By: Peggy Meyer Sun, Feb 19, 2023 IP: 75.176.186.162 I believe this bowl is Japanese. It measures 8 3/4" across & is 2" to the side edge. The only mark is the one shown on the bottom. |

Posted By: Peggy Meyer Fri, Feb 24, 2023 I apologize profusely for messing up on the photos. I thought I had posted the 3 allowed & had included the bottom as well as a close-up of the mark. However, I was obviously mistaken. |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Feb 25, 2023 The gilt characters on red ground can be read as Japanese names "Masanari or Masashige (正成), but if any of them have made porcelain in the last couple of centuries, they evaded my Google searches. Your bowl resembles other with marks on a red field that were made circa the first quarter of the 20th century. |
