Subject:bowl identification - Tung Chih
Posted By: Jason Karras Mon, Sep 12, 2022 IP: 2601:249:9080:c90:6d

I was hoping someone could give their thoughts on age / identification of this small bowl I have. It is 2.5" high x 4.125" across and I got them in an older box labeled as "Tung Chih".

Stamp Mark at the bottom says Tongzhi Nian Zhi - "Tongzhi Period Make" (1862-74) and is according to gotheborg probably from Guangxu-Period (1875-1908). The label on the box appears to give a hint on said Tonghzi-Period. I think there is a cyclical date given, I.Nagy might be of help with. In any case, the style and colouring speak for late 19th or early 20th century.

with regards

Madria
