Subject:1 of 2 Agano ware(?) ceramics with request for identifying mark
Posted By: Chris Tue, Jul 05, 2022 IP: 2600:8801:fb00:a16:f

Hello,

Below are three photos of one of two pieces I have that I think(??) are Agano ware, each with markings. The first piece is a small (3"?) vase with a marking impressed or engraved in the bottom. I'm not sure which way the kanji should be oriented, so I posted images of it in both directions.

Any assistance you all can provide in translating the markings and an estimation of age would be warmly appreciated and I thank you in advance for the same.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Marking reads,
吟松窯 - Ginshō -gama - Ginshō Kiln
Name of a kiln in Ibusuki (Kagoshima Prefecture) founded in the 1970s by Arimura Yoshirō a hotel owner to boost the tourism in Ibusuki.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Hi Chris,
These Agano marks are typically marks I can't read, so I hope some other members of the forum will answer you.
Martin.
