The plate is a tourist souvenir item from Qufu，the hometown of Confucius.
Marking on the back,
曲阜友誼商店監制 - Supervised and Manufactured by Qufu Friendship Store
The picture depicts Confucius. No contemporary portrait of him survives, but the most popular print during the Imperial pediod was taken from from a now lost original by Wu Daozi 吴道子 in the 8th c. A.D.
Inscription,
徳偉天地道冠古今......
Morality can be matched with heaven and earth, the Dao (Tao) crowns ancient and modern........
Signature,
唐吴道子筆 - Panited by Wu Daozi of Tang
The plate was made during the 1970s-80s.
