Subject:Japanese marking on small vase

The marking on this small vase (15 cm) starts with Hidari (= left) 左.
But I could not find the 2 same marks underneath 左, not in the my known Kanji, Katakana and Hiragana tables.
Someone any idea? Is it a number?
