Kyichu River is running from east to west (towards left in the photo). The Old town to the right is centred around the Jokhang Temple while Marpori and Chakpori are rising from an open landscape about 1.5 kilometres further west. The surrounding mountains are rising up to 2000 metres over the valley floor on 3600 m.
