Old buildings surveyed 1995-2000.
Map compiled and redrawn by Knud Larsen
1999

This is the main map from the research project “Lhasa Historical City Atlas”, 1995-2000, conducted by Knud Larsen and Amund Sinding-Larsen as collaboration between NTNU, The Norwegian University of Science and Technology, and TASS, Tibet Academy of Social Science and Tibet University. The main aim of the project was to find and survey the condition of all remaining old (pre 1950) secular buildings in Old Lhasa.

The buildings indicated with red colour are all religious structures. Those indicated with brown colour are secular houses existing in 1995.
