Subject:Silk Painting? Markings?
Posted By: Kary Sun, Oct 25, 2020 IP: 2601:586:580:2340:29 Can anyone help identify the markings. Are these silk paintings? |

Posted By: Stan Mon, Oct 26, 2020 If they are on silk, they are decorative reproductions of Japanese woodblock prints. The second is by Tōshūsai Sharaku and is of Kabuki Actor Morita Kan’ya VIII as the Palanquin-Bearer in the Play A Medley of Tales of Revenge (Katakiuchi noriaibanashi). See the link below. |
