Can anyone help identify the markings. Are these silk paintings?

If they are on silk, they are decorative reproductions of Japanese woodblock prints. The second is by Tōshūsai Sharaku and is of Kabuki Actor Morita Kan’ya VIII as the Palanquin-Bearer in the Play A Medley of Tales of Revenge (Katakiuchi noriaibanashi). See the link below.
