Subject:Vietnamese? or Korean bowl
Posted By: Sally Sun, May 10, 2020 IP: 90.255.53.87 Hi, this bowl is approximately 12"/30cm across. From what I can gather it looks to be Vietnamese, or possibly Korean. I have no idea how old it is but I would think it has some age. Any thoughts or opinions would be welcome. |

The basket designs around the rim are an early example of a stamped-on motif. See the link for another example of such a piece. |

Posted By: Sally Mon, May 11, 2020 Thanks Bill, That's interesting, and enlightening as ever. I remember similar ceramics being called 'provincial Chinese' back in the 80s and 90s, a term which seemed to cover quite a broad area. |
