I am wondering though if a Qingdao or other PRC artist would have been painting this sort of scene in 1968 when the cultural revolution was going strong and people were being persecuted for collecting or enjoying traditional art. Possibly by someone outside Mao's China instead? Style seems similar to Shi Lu though, which suggests familiarity with mainland artists |
