dated summer 1968 by a Chinese? artist using the name 无咎 Wujiu, unrelated to the Yuan painter of plum blossoms with this given name.

Inscription in my reading,
霊峯峨之聾聖九曲之回 - The sacred peaks rise high
with their lingering hard to hear sacred nine songs
戊申孟夏 - Year of Earth-Monkey (1968) Beginning of Summer
Signature and seal,
无咎 - Wujiu - Style name

Probably, this style-name belonged to Du Zongfo
杜宗佛 1903-1980
Native of Ye County, lived in Qingdao, was good in laandscape,flower-bird painting and seal-carving
(Ref.中国美術家人名辞典 増補本)

With regards,
I.Nagy

You are great at being thorough in your replies, I really admire that. I am wondering though if a Qingdao or other PRC artist would have been painting this sort of scene in 1968 when the cultural revolution was going strong and people were being persecuted for collecting or enjoying traditional art. Possibly by someone outside Mao's China instead? Style seems similar to Shi Lu though, which suggests familiarity with mainland artists
