An attractive and rare Chinese painted grey pottery figure of a recumbent dog looking up expectantly. Most of the original ochre pigment remains. Northern Qi dynasty, 6th century AD. Provenance: The collection of C Roger Moss, OBE. Purchased in Hong Kong in the late 1990's. Roger Moss was an avid collector and a top financial figure in Hong Kong until 2003.
