CHINESE CALLIGRAPHY & SEAL TRANSLATION |
Posted By: I.Nagy Posted Date: May 20, 2019 (02:22 PM) |
Message Dear Selby, Just make it sure your picture is not from Wang Hui 王翬 1632-1717, but from an another earlier artist Wang Jian 王鑑 1598-1677. In the book titled "Seal Identifications of Chinese Calligraphers and Painters I-II (中國書畫家印鑑款識)2013" on p. 129-30 there are 58 seal prints listed from Wang Jian, but no one of them is matching exactly to the one on your picture. the originals are more elaborately cut. The conclusion is self-explanatory. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
