A flambe vase |
Posted By: john Posted Date: Jan 14, 2018 (04:31 PM) |
Message Hello, please can anyone help me date this vase? When I purchased this I believed it to be Chinese in origin, dating to the 19th or early 20th century. Have researched online I am now inclined to believe that it may be a Jingdezhen 18th century piece. The reasons being that the lower surface is covered with many burst glaze bubbles. The base is covered with a clear glaze that is burnt with a brownish tinge. The chipping to the base and the splashes of red to its main body. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, John.
