Re: Old Chinese Crackleware Vase |
Posted By: JLim Posted Date: Oct 03, 2017 (03:06 AM) |
Message Dear Steve This frequently encountered vase type is sometimes called "incised brown ware" and began to be made in the late 19th century. Although it continued to be made into the 20th century I would say the staple repairs do indicate that this is a fairly early example. To put it another way, this vase cannot be 200 years old, but it may well be 100. Rgds Jonathan Post a Response |
