Ge ware, bought in Chengdu, Szechuan, 1994 |

Message Hello, I purchased this vase in Chengdu in 1994, from a very old man in a very small store in a back street. He had no other items of interest - kind of a junk shop. I think it is Ge ware, iron wire and golden thread. It's about 8cm tall. The pottery is thick, not thin, and it's dirty. What's the best way to find out more about it - just get it appraised? Sotheby's would take 6 weeks to get to it. Is it worth it? Anyone better in the New York City area? Thank you! ![]() |
