Possible Ming (Xuande) bowl... |
Posted By: SD Saxon Posted Date: Nov 09, 2013 (11:34 AM) |
Message I have a bowl that, from its markings, indicates it is from the Xuande period of the Ming dynasty... I realize that it is likely a fake, but it is a very lovely piece and I am interested in your opinion. I tried sending the other day but my pix were too big... It's exterior is solid cobalt with a beautifully incised interior of dragons under an off white glaze. The markings on the bottom are light, delicate and perfectly centered. It is a much-loved piece and I only recently noticed and identified markings... Mr. Joe O'Brien looked at the photos and thought it had promise and was worth showing it to you. I am including a few photos. I also have larger images available if that would be useful. Thank you for your feedback. ![]() |
