Marble head |
Posted By: Martin Schultz Posted Date: Feb 27, 2013 (11:40 AM) |
Message Dear all, I´m writing on behalf of the Reiss-Engelhorn-Museums at Mannheim/Germany. The attached marble head is part of the ethnographic collections here and entered the museum as "mexican". My impression is that it must be from east asia. Not visible on the photos is a grooved rim going around the head (except lower jaw) and looking like the head was part of something bigger. I would very much appreciate any comments confirming or negating my idea. Thanks in advance, Martin Schultz ![]() ![]() ![]() |
