Monkey dish - blue and white - Ming? |
Posted By: JLim Posted Date: Dec 04, 2012 (11:38 PM) |
Message Hi all Another recently acquired dish, with an alleged monkey painted in the middle. From the roughness of the painting I would say it is from a slightly downmarket private Jingdezhen kiln, maybe minyao or kosometsuke type. Or maybe swatow? From the pinkish footrim and the chatter marks I would estimate at least Early Transitional or possibly Wanli. Does anyone have an opinion of this monkey dish? Kind rgds JLim ![]() ![]() ![]() |
