Little Old Blue Plate

I have a couple of questions. This little blue plate is 7 inches diameter and 1.5 inches tall. The rim quickly turns up. What would this have been used for? Also, is this an imitation of an earlier style like Jun? It seems like an old plate but I don't know how old. I'm assuming they've been making imitations of earlier wares for centuries.

This plate is thinly potted and seems to be a quality piece.
