Message Hi Julie, Your vase is a Japanese export ware from 1930's -1940's, with a painter's signature to base, Suizan ( a part of the kanji characters is worn and not clear ). I would not call this type of Japanese ware as Satsuma, although most people might not agree with me. Your vase is a commercial produt to fill a rushed order placed by a foreign buyer.
