Message Hi Richard, Sorry, I don't know why they are in couple .... Yes these have a rather tall base, but some don't . I don't think yours had a tall base, it should still be there if it had one, because they are sculpted in 1 piece. That's also the reason i said " probably Laos" , I can't exclude Burma/Myanmar for that reason. Well , lucky you going to Cambodia. I bought a Buddha sculpture when I was there a few years ago. It is about 30cm high and around 400 years old. (see photo) Hope you can find similar ones. You will see that the hat and the face features are different from 1 S/E Asia country to another.
