unknown old Indian script? |
Posted By: Waltraud Ganguly Posted Date: Jun 11, 2009 (08:43 AM) |
Message Recently I bought this 2 cm wide, 9 mm thick stone plug in Delhi. I don't know its exact function nor whether it is shown upside down. I believe that it could have been an old earplug, as they were worn in the Gangetic plain. But what are the signs? Animals at the edge and script in the middle? Please help me or tell me where I could enquire further. Did anyone see similar stones? The back shows two parallel grooves and a dot in the middle. ![]() ![]() |
