Help with Lacqured / Mother of Pearl Panels |
Posted By: Kimberly Posted Date: May 05, 2008 (03:50 PM) |
Message Hello Everyone, hoping your expertise might help me out. These are 5 gorgeous panels. they are not signed. Two of them are almost identical. They are bout 36" long and 13" across. There's two things that might give a hint to their age and who/what company made them: 1.) The brass hanging attachment. I've seen the same one on a panel, but that one also didn't have any history. 2.) The handpainted frame. I have seen someone with another one with the EXACT same painted frame, same size, etc... I was figuring they were probably made during the surge of interest in Japanese art after WW II. I'm pretty sure it was a company who made them. Anyone have any ideas? Any ideas on value? Thank you! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
