Message 天硯圖 - Picture of Heavenly Inkstone* 乾隆辛未夏癭瓢子愼寫 In the Summer of Qianlong - Metal-Sheep - Year (1751) Painted by Yingpiaozi Shen Upper seal, 黄愼 - Huang Shen Lower seal, 恭壽 - Gongshou *Su Shi, poet of the Song Dynasty was a collector of inkstones. His first inkstone was obtained when he was 12 years old. The picture depicts the scene when the "Heavenly Inkstone" (what we call now, a natural inkstone) was handed over to him by his father. Huang Shen 黄愼 1687-1751 Courtesy name; Gongshou Pseudonym; Yingpiaozi (Gall scoop) Chinese painter during the Qin Dynasty. One of the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou.
