Message Signature and seal read, 華擧 - Kakyo Kawanabe Kakyo 河邊華擧 1844-1928 Born in Ǒsaka as the eldest son of Kawanabe Kaiin, a painter of Chuguji Temple. Original name was Akihiko. Learned painting from Tosa Mitsukiyo, Kanō Eigaku etc.In 1881 was appointed to the Kyōto Prefectural School of Painting. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
