Help Identifying this Artist Signature |
Posted By: I.Nagy Posted Date: Feb 10, 2019 (08:09 PM) |
Message The possible readings of signature, 1, 東洋 - Tōyō (Japanese) Dongyang (Chinese) 2, 東詳 - Tōshō (Japanese) Dongxiang (Chinese) The seal is an indecipherable hieroglyphic pictogram. Japanese literature knows only one painter with this art-name; Azuma Tōyō 東東洋 1755-1839 However, the style of brushwork somewhat differs from the available signature samples. Painters with the above (art) names are not included in Chinese litrature. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
