Message Inscription, 武陽城南泊船(堂)- Buyō-jō Minami Hakusen(dō) Buyō-jō - Edo Castle South (Buyō is the archaic name of Edo) Hakusen-dō - Pseudonym Seal, 泊船 - Hakusen + Handwritten 堂 = Hakusendō Hakusendō was one of the pseudonyms of Matso Basho 1644-1694 Famous poet of Edo Period, but he used to paint paintings too. I could not find any Hakusendō signature or seal print sample in my books, so I am perplexed It would be difficult to know if your painting is genuine. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
