Message Thank you very much Mr Nagy!! - I had guessed it was probably a tourist piece possibly mid/late 20thC by the ageing of exposed wood where the laquer has come off. I have certainly seen much more sophisticated examples but it was the simplicity of the piece that appealed to me - I purchased it for very little along with a, potentially, much more valuable, painted, Swiss plate.
