Artist? bamboo brush pot |
Posted By: TimG Posted Date: Mar 26, 2018 (09:42 AM) |
Message Thank you! I was originally thinking it was a Qianlong Chinese brush pot as it is footed and the design is carved with such detail. But, Meiji / Taisho era carvings are exceptional, too. I just didn't realize that brush pots were part of their art forms (netsuke, inro, sagemono, okimono, etc). With your help with the artist name, I was able to find another example of Ito Tesseki's work, a lotus leaf form tray. Spot on match. Many thanks! Post a Response |
