Posted By: keith jennings Wed, Apr 13, 2005 The raised marks are probably the the potter or studio which made the blank vase, the overglazed red signature is the person or place which decorated it with enamels. A better picture of both marks would help, usually this style of decoration was done by Kinkozan for the export market and was popular for many years. |

Posted By: Lloyd Smith Wed, Apr 13, 2005 Keith is correct, Kinkozan. This vase was produced from the 1880's to 1900. I have a variety of Kyoto/Satsuma wares produced by Kinkozan. |
